Since the inception of the Free Roaming Wild Horse and Burro Act of 1971 which was designed to prevent this very thing. The wild horses have now become a commodity and sold for huge profits being they are adopted for next to nothing adoption fees. The Act of 1971 was supposed to protect these icons from exploitation. The RE-$ALE of the wild horse in a blatant violation of everything that the Wild Horse Annie ACT and the ACT of 1971 was designed to protect them from.
Look at the countless pages of wild horses just in the category listed as Mustangs.. You will probably come to the conclusion that the BLM had created a very lucrative market for even the most opposed wild horse advocates against wild horses round ups..
In other words! The money to be made from re-selling an adopted wild horses from a BLM holding facility can even make the most desperate wild horse advocate want to on his or her own convictions. The profit is over 500% and anyone could stand to turn a few thousand dollars at the expense of the horse and to fulfill human greed and self gratification.
The BLM and DOI are out of control. I got one of my rescues for $10 as a sale authority horse. I just took in two which had been used as rodeo buckers an d for charro “horse tripping”. Its rediculous the way Americans are treating the American heritage. We should be protective of it, yet people auction off these amazing animals like the property where they’re found. I wish I could help save these beautiful symbols.
